Campaign Overview

Apna Shelter India Foundation proudly launches "Voice for Change", a bold and transformative 36-month campaign to bring spoken English education to the heart of India’s most underserved communities — the slums. This isn't just a language program — it's a movement to empower voices, unlock confidence, and create real pathways to opportunity for children and adults alike.

We are not teaching English for the sake of language. We are teaching English for employment, education, self-esteem, and social mobility.

Through community-based learning centers, a structured three-year curriculum (Basic–Moderate–Advanced), high-quality teaching, and ongoing support, Voice for Change aims to transform 120 lives per center — not just for today, but for generations.

Our Mission

To empower underprivileged communities by building their capacity in spoken English, enabling them to speak up, stand tall, and step forward into a world of opportunities.

Millions of talented young people and hardworking adults in India remain disconnected from economic and educational opportunities because they lack one thing: spoken English skills. This barrier impacts:

Target Areas

Identified slum communities in urban regions of Maharashtra. With pilot implementation in 1 center, we aim to scale to 5, 10, and ultimately 50 centers over time.

What We Will Do (Campaign Highlights)

Establish Learning Centers

Set up community-based English learning hubs equipped with digital tools and modern infrastructure.

Hire & Train Local Talent

Each center will have 2 qualified teachers and 1 helper. Training and mentorship will ensure delivery quality.

Deliver a 3-Level Curriculum

• Year 1: Basic English & vocabulary

• Year 2: Storytelling, writing, and public speaking

• Year 3: Fluency, discussions, job-readiness & mock interviews

Distribute Learning Kits

Every student gets a full kit with:

• Course material

• School bag (with project logo)

• Project-branded T-shirt/shrug

• Writing essentials

Celebrate Achievements

Students will be awarded formal certificates upon level completion to validate their learning.

Each center supports 120 students over 3 years, divided across 4 daily batches (2 for children, 2 for adults).
